Paddy procurement began on October 1 in western Uttar Pradesh and on November 1 in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Farmers, a top priority for the Yogi government, are actively participating in the process. As of November 14, more than 3.01 lakh metric tons of paddy have been procured from 51,361 farmers. Procurement is being carried out at the MSP of ₹2,369 per quintal for Common and ₹2,389 per quintal for Grade-A paddy. According to the Food and Civil Supplies Department, 3,82,997 farmers have registered for the ongoing procurement season. A total of 4,139 procurement centers have been set up across the state.Following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s directives, farmers are receiving payments within 48 hours, directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank
accounts. To ensure transparency and prevent middlemen, coarse-grain procurement at centers continues through biometric verification using e-POP devices.
