Twisha Sharma Death: The ongoing investigation into the death of Twisha Sharma has taken a dramatic turn after a theft was reported at the residence of her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, who is currently under police custody. Major Harshit Sharma, Twisha’s brother, has alleged that the theft was planned to cover up evidence related to his sister's suspicious death. On Saturday, thieves reportedly broke into Giribala Singh's home in Bhopal, stealing valuables while leaving behind a bag of items as they fled upon hearing police sirens. The incident occurred while Singh, a retired judge currently in judicial custody, was detained in connection with Twisha’s death. Major Harshit Sharma expressed skepticism regarding the break-in, saying, “These
thieves must be highly educated to steal documents. Why steal documents? How would a thief know exactly what documents were kept in that iron cabinet?” He suggested that the theft might be a preemptive move to destroy evidence, fearing that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) might later question the integrity of the crime scene.
Twisha Sharma Death Case
Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home on May 12, and allegations of dowry harassment against her husband, Samarth Singh, and in-laws have surfaced since then. The family is now pushing for the case to be transferred to Delhi, citing a lack of confidence in the Bhopal administration.Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, said that what he observed during the hearing was that there was an attempt to club one crime with another, which the judge did not accept. Calling the theft a "planted incident", he said that none of the versions regarding the alleged theft match. "From the very first day, the statements that have come through the media have been contradictory. First, there was one version of the incident, then the ACP said something else, and the Commissioner gave a different account. The police’s statements do not match each other. Even now, no one knows what actually happened because the facts are still unclear," he added.
Judicial Custody Extended Amid Ongoing Investigations
A special CBI court extended the judicial remand of Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh until July 14. During a recent hearing, Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, raised concerns about inconsistencies in police statements regarding the theft, suggesting a deliberate attempt to conflate separate incidents. He noted that the details provided by law enforcement have been contradictory, further muddying the waters surrounding Twisha's tragic death.
