Getting to hear about a rather ‘passionate’ story about a hair transplant from a Pakistani terrorist is not exactly what one expects in an interrogation, yet that is exactly the tale that a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) terrorist, Mohammed Usman Jatt, ended up narrating during his National Investigation Agency (NIA) interrogation! According to PTI, Jatt, alias 'Chinese', had infiltrated Jammu and Kashmir through the northern part of the valley to execute terror attacks for LeT in India. However, once he started living in Kashmir, he found life "completely different" from what he was told in terrorist training camps.Jatt was reportedly arrested early last month by the Srinagar Police alongside Abdullah, alias Abu Hureira, the longest-surviving Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist.
The duo had been tasked with setting up sleeper terror bases outside J&K. Later, the duo was handed over to the NIA, which began to interrogate Jatt- only to get to know about his ‘personal dream’, that he ended up fulfilling: a hair transplant. As per the interrogation, once Jatt, a resident of Lahore and a trained operative, realised the reality of life in Kashmir, he ended up shifting his objectives entirely. The arrested terrorist was reportedly suffering from ‘severe hair loss for years’, which had impacted his ‘self-esteem’. As per what he had heard before, a procedure to fix one’s hair was something that could only happen in the West. However, during his stay with other Pakistani terrorists, Zargam and Abdullah alias 'Abu Huriera' in the upper hills of Srinagar, he got to know about a shop owner, from whom he ultimately got to know about the possibility of a hair transplant, as the owner himself had undergone the same.Reportedly, the terrorist used to visit the shop owner and persuade him to help him get a hair transplant. At the end, the owner took Jutt for the transplant within the city, due to which, at times, the arrested terrorist used to stay overnight in the clinic. After the procedure was over, Jutt, who had already tied up with 'Abu Huriera', took a passenger vehicle to Jammu and later a sleeper bus to Punjab on his way to Malerkotla. There, he spent time watching Turkish shows and attempted to learn English. As per the interrogation, Jutt wanted to make a genuine Aadhar card, PAN card and eventually wanted a passport to escape from India like Umar alias 'Khargosh' (rabbit). Before the arrest, and during his initial stages, Jutt used to be involved in terror activities in north and central Kashmir. During his stay with Zargam and Abdullah, he also used to speak about the various people with whom he had stayed, which is what led the Srinagar police to bust the entire racket of Over Ground Workers (OGWs) of the terror group operating in North Kashmir and Srinagar city.ALSO READ: Army Chief’s Warning To Pak on Terror: 'Decide If You Want To Be Part Of Geography, History, Or Not'This unearthing of an interstate LeT module comes nearly six months after the 'Al Falah module' was busted in November 2025 by the Srinagar police, which unravelled a network comprising highly educated professionals, mostly doctors, who had been radicalised to carry out terrorist activities. One of the accused was the Al Falah University's Dr Umer-un Nabi, who was driving the explosives-laden car that detonated outside the Red Fort on November 10 last year, killing more than a dozen people.(PTI Inputs)
