Chennai: The voting for the Tamil Nadu assembly elections began at 8 AM on Monday, May 4. Early trends are expected after a few rounds of counting. Kolathur is one of the key constituencies of the state. Chief Minister MK Stalin is contesting from this seat for the fourth consecutive time. Apart from Stalin, AIADMK's P Santhana Krishnan, NTK's A Soundarapandian Loutherseth and TVK's VS Balu. Stalin has been representing this constituency since its formation in 2011 following the delimitation of constituencies. The Kolathur seat is one of the six state legislative assembly constituencies of Chennai North Lok Sabha constituency. It lies between Perambur, Villivakkam, and Madhavaram. The constituency has transformed into a residential hub with
increasing apartment complexes. The politics in Kolathur now revolves around issues, including management, and overall quality of life.
