New Delhi: As large parts of India continue to reel under an intense heatwave, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged citizens to stay safe, remain hydrated and show compassion towards others battling the soaring temperatures. In a series of posts on X, PM Modi highlighted how rising temperatures are making daily life increasingly difficult across the country and appealed to people to take precautions while also helping those around them.“Temperatures are continuously rising in different parts of the country, and along with this, the many difficulties caused by the heat in daily life are also increasing. As temperatures continue to touch dangerous levels in several states, the Prime Minister also made a special appeal for the elderly, urging people to check in on older family members and neighbours.“Whenever possible, call and check on elderly parents, grandparents and loved ones during this heatwave. Remind them to stay hydrated, avoid stepping out in peak afternoon hours and take rest whenever possible,” he said.The Prime Minister also drew attention to the impact of the scorching heat on birds and animals, asking people to place bowls of water outside homes, balconies, rooftops and shops.“In this extreme heat, let us also remember the birds and animals around us.
