Delhi Red Fort Blast: What ED Officials Found at Terror-tainted Al-Falah University

New Delhi: In fresh trouble for Al-Falah university, under scanner over the Red Fort blast, probe agency Enforcement Directorate is investigating suspicious financial transactions at the institution, which they believe had a role in the November 10 incident. The Faridabad-based university is where the Red Fort bomber Dr Umar un Nabi and others accused in the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM)-linked "white collar" Faridabad terror module worked.Earlier this morning, ED officials executed search actions at over 25 premises connected to the Al-Falah group, in Delhi NCR. The operation forms part of an ongoing investigation into financial irregularities, use of shell companies, accommodation entities and money laundering."The role of Al-Falah Trust and related

entities is under investigation. Key personnel overseeing finance and administration have also been covered,"a source said.ED officials found nine shell companies linked to the Al-Falah group, all registered at a single address, are under examination. Early findings point to multiple risk indicators consistent with shell-company behaviour, including:▪ No physical presence or meaningful utility consumption at declared places of business.▪ Common mobile number and email across various companies and accounts.▪ Absence of EPFO/ESIC filings inconsistent with reported scale of operations.▪ Overlapping directors/signatories and weak KYC trails across entities.▪ Minimal salary disbursal through banking channels and absence of HR records.▪ Synchronized incorporation patterns and common contact coordinates across firms.ALSO READ: Delhi Blast Mastermind Dr Umar’s Unseen Video on ‘Suicide Bombing’ Accessed by Times Now

In addition, prima facie discrepancies have been noted in claims regarding UGC and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) recognition.The NAAC has issued a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University for displaying false accreditation on its website, officials said on Thursday.In the show-cause notice, the NAAC said it has noted that the Al-Falah University, "which is neither accredited nor applied for accreditation by NAAC", has publicly displayed on its website that "Al-Falah University is an endeavour of Al-Falah Charitable Trust, which has been running three colleges on the campus, namely Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology (since 1997, Graded A by NAAC), Brown Hill College of Engineering and Technology (since 2008), and Al-Falah School of Education and Training (since 2006, Graded A by NAAC).""This is absolutely wrong and misleading the public, especially the parents, students and stakeholders," the show-cause notice read.

The NAAC has sought an explanation and directed the university to remove the NAAC accreditation details from its website and any other publicly available or distributed documents.The November 10 high-intensity blast ripped through a car near Red Fort in Delhi, killing 13 people and injuring several others, hours after the busting of a "white collar terror module". The arrested included three doctors linked to Al-Falah University.
