was the meeting point for the accused who are now behind bars. Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Shaheen Sayeed - both arrested as part of an investigation into the "white-collar terror module" with links to Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind - were connected to Al Falah University. Dr Umar Nabi, who was driving the Hyundai i20 that exploded in Red Fort area on Monday evening, was an assistant professor at the university.According to the investigators, Room No.13, Building 17, at Al Falah University was the meeting hub for the recently busted terror module in Faridabad. The accused were using the premises under the guise of regular academic activity, the probe revealed.
The room served as the meeting point where suspects coordinated their activities, stored explosives, and conducted surveillance for potential targets, according to sources. The agencies have sealed the room and recovered various devices and electronic devices, they said.
Umar Was Behind Wheels, Accused Raised Rs 26 Lakh
The Hyundai i20, which exploded near a signal in Delhi's Red Fort area, was being driven by Dr Umar. A DNA test of samples collected from the Red Fort blast site confirmed the same. "The DNA results confirm that it was indeed Umar who was driving the fateful vehicle," said a source. The DNA samples of Umar's mother were collected on Tuesday and sent to Delhi for examination, the sources said, adding that they were analysed along with the remains gathered from the blast site.
The doctors arrested in connection with the terror module had raised more than Rs 26 lakh to procure materials used in the deadly blast near Red Fort. The four suspects - Dr Muzammil Ganaie, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Shaheen Sayeed and Dr Umar Nabi - had pooled in the amount in cash, which was handed over to Dr Umar for safekeeping and operational use, reported PTI.Investigators believe the fund was linked to a larger terror conspiracy. Using the pooled money, the group had allegedly purchased around 26 quintals of NPK fertiliser, approximately worth Rs 3 lakh from suppliers in Gurugram, Nuh and nearby towns.
