Ayodhya Lawyers File Complaint Against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra And Gopal Rao In Ram Mandir Donation Case

The Bar Association of Faizabad on Thursday filed a complaint against former general secretary of the temple trust, former trustee Anil Mishra and temple administrator Gopal Rao in in connection with the alleged donation theft at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. A group of lawyers from the Ayodhya district court marched towards the Ram Janmabhoomi police station to file the complaint. Heavy police deployment and barricading were reportedly put in place to stop the marching lawyers, but the they proceeded after removing the barricades and moving past the police presence.Faizabad Bar Association president Kalika Sharan Mishra also confirmed that a written complaint was against the three individuals. “A written complaint has been submitted. Five people

have gone to collect the hard copy of the complaint. If they do not provide the copy, the protest will continue. The police have said that action will be taken and have given full assurance regarding the matter. The FIR includes Champat Rai ji, Anil Mishra ji, Gopal Rao, and Krishna Dev", Mishra told the news agency PTI.Earlier on June 29, Ayodhya's Bar Association had that no advocate will represent the accused in the case linked to the alleged embezzlement of donation funds at the Ram Temple. The announcement in this regard was made by Mishra. Meanwhile, Sanjay Jaiswal ,the general secretary of the Bar Association, Faizabad, had said that if FIR is not registered against Champat Rai, Anil Mishra and Gopal Rao they themselves would file FIR against them under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s Key Meeting On July 6:The Ram Templ Trust will hold its key meeting on July 6 . During the meeting, trustees will make decisions on the resignations of general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra. Both resigned from their respective posts June 27.The Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday reportedly questioned Rai for nearly three hours as part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged theft of temple offerings.
