Wing Commander Namansh Syal, who hailed from Himachal Pradesh, was killed on Friday after the indigenous multi-role Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), Tejas, crashed in a ball of fire during the aerial display
at the Dubai Air Show. Jagan Nath Syal, the father of Wing Commander Syal, was scrolling on a social media platform when he got to know about the crash. The father said that he was searching videos of the ongoing Air Show on YouTube, when a report about the crash popped up, Jagan Nath Syal told The Indian Express. Minutes later, at least six Air Force officers arrived at the residence, he said. “I last spoke to my son yesterday. He told me to see his performance during the air show on TV channels or YouTube. Around 4 pm today, I was searching videos of the ongoing air show in Dubai on YouTube when I saw reports about the plane crash. Immediately, I called my daughter-in-law, who is also a Wing Commander, to check what happened," the father told the English Daily. "Moments later, at least six Air Force officers arrived at our house and I realised something bad happened to my son,” he added.
