New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Saturday announced that its founder, Abhijeet Dipke, has received permission from Delhi Police to hold a protest at Jantar Mantar, marking a significant development for the social media-driven movement's first major on-ground mobilisation in the national capital.According to an update shared by the organisation, police officials met Dipke at the airport shortly after his arrival in Delhi and informed him that permission had been granted for the demonstration.Following the development, the CJP urged supporters and protesters to proceed directly to Jantar Mantar instead of gathering at Parliament Street Police Station, where many had initially planned to assemble amid uncertainty over whether the event
would be allowed. The update comes just hours after questions were raised over the status of the proposed protest. Earlier in the day, Delhi Police had maintained that no formal permission request had been received from the organisation, even as security arrangements were tightened around key areas of the city ahead of the gathering.Education reformer and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had also indicated that he would join the demonstration if the Union minister did not step down by June 5.
