Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, reviewed the operational readiness of the Konark Corps during Exercise Akhand Prahar, an important segment of the ongoing Tri-Services Exercise Trishul.The large-scale exercise focused on testing and validating the Indian Army’s capability to conduct multi-domain, integrated operations in collaboration with the Indian Air Force. Lt Gen Seth observed live demonstrations of combined arms manoeuvres that showcased seamless inter-service coordination, refined tactics and procedures, and the effective employment of emerging battlefield technologies - including advanced drone systems and counter-drone mechanisms.As part of his visit, the Army Commander
also interacted with troops and examined a series of indigenous innovations developed by the Battle Axe Division and the Konark Corps. These innovations, ranging from force protection systems to locally designed unmanned platforms, underscore the Army’s growing emphasis on Atmanirbharta (self-reliance) and innovation at the field formation level.Lt Gen Seth commended the soldiers and commanders for their professionalism, adaptability, and technological ingenuity, noting that such exercises reflect the evolving character of modern warfare and the Indian Army’s commitment to remain operationally prepared for any contingency.He highlighted that Exercise Akhand Prahar embodies the Southern Command’s guiding principles of Jointness, Atmanirbharta, and Innovation (JAI) - driving transformation through inter-service synergy, technology integration, and combat readiness across land and air domains.The exercise marks another milestone in the Indian Army's continued efforts to strengthen joint operational capabilities and enhance mission effectiveness through indigenous solutions and modern warfare systems.
