Pinki Mali was one of the
crew members onboard Ajit Pawar’s plane. She completed her studies from Mumbai and was a resident of Worli. Pinki had accompanied Ajit Pawar on several trips. On Wednesday’s flight, she was to drop the Maharashtra deputy CM to Baramati. Recalling the heartbreaking moment when they were informed about her death, Pinki’s grandmother said that the family received the devastating news around 9.30 am. She said the shock was overwhelming for the family, especially Pinki's parents, who broke down upon learning that their daughter was no more.

"I got to know about the incident around 9:30 a.m. that she had died in a plane crash. I spoke with Pinki's parents; they were crying and told us that she is no more now..." the grandmother said, struggling to hold back her emotions.Recalling the moment he learned about Pinki's death, her uncle Chandrabhushan Mali said the news reached the family slightly later in the morning. He shared that Pinki had visited Jaunpur just two months ago and spoke fondly of her life and career."We got to know about this incident around 10:30 AM. I called my brother, but he did not answer. Pinki came here 2 months ago. Her schooling and everything were done in Mumbai..." Chandrabhushan told reporters, adding that the family is still trying to come to terms with the sudden loss.Meanwhile, police registered an accidental death report (ADR) case in connection with the plane crash that killed Ajit Pawar and four others in Baramati, an official said.

Ajit Pawar, 66 and four other persons on board a chartered aircraft were killed after it crashed barely 200 metres from the edge of a tabletop runway at the Baramati airport in the morning."We have registered an accidental death report (ADR) with the Baramati taluka police station," confirmed a senior police officer from the Pune rural police.

CID Likely To Probe Ajit Pawar Plane Crash Case
As per procedure, the ADR will be handed over to the Maharashtra Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which will conduct a probe based on findings of the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB)'s inquiry.The AAIB, which functions under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has already taken over the probe into the crash.A CID official told PTI that in case of the death of an influential public representative or figure in an accident, the probe is carried out by the CID."We have not yet received any orders. However, it is likely that CID will receive the orders and will likely conduct the probe into the ADR registered with local police," he explained.Pawar, who headed the NCP, had taken off from Mumbai in the morning to address four rallies in the day in Pune district for the February 5 Zilla Parishad elections.The aircraft, a Learjet, was cleared for landing in Baramati after a go-around due to poor visibility, but having finally received a clearance, it did not give any read-back to the ATC, and moments later burst into flames on the edge of the runway.
