Samba, J&K: Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district have detained a suspect for questioning on Sunday, Times Now sources have learnt. Preliminary verification revealed several mobile numbers with the “+92” country code, indicating potential links to Pakistan. Given the sensitivity of the matter, officials said the investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited. Sources described the case as highly sensitive, with authorities closely monitoring potential cross-border terror networks.Meanwhile, a massive search operation is underway in Udhampur district after 2–3 terrorists allegedly entered a local house, collected food, and fled into the nearby forest, Times Now sources reported.The joint search operation by police and paramilitary
forces was underway at Udhampur and its adjoining forest villages in the Majalta area, some 5 km west of the site of an earlier encounter that left a policeman dead. An intelligence input was received late Saturday that two unidentified terrorists visited the house of Mangtu Ram at Chore Motu village at around 6.30 pm and took food.The forest belt near the village was cordoned off, and a combing operation was launched simultaneously from different sides with the first light of the day on Sunday to track down and neutralise the terrorists. The region remains on high alert, with security forces combing the surrounding forest areas and maintaining strict vigilance to prevent further incidents.On December 15, a policeman was killed in an encounter with terrorists at Soan village in the Majalta area after security forces received information about the movement of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the area.The terrorists managed to escape, taking advantage of thick foliage and darkness(With inputs from reporter Ankit Bhat)
