Air India on Tuesday advised passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport after a third-party system outage disrupted check-in operations at several airports, causing delays across multiple airlines. In a post on X, the airline explained that the disruption had affected check-in systems at various airports, resulting in operational slowdowns. “Our airport teams have been working diligently to assist passengers and keep processes moving,” Air India had said earlier in the day.The airline also asked travellers to verify their flight status on its official portal and allow extra time for their airport journey while the issue was being resolved. However, the situation has now normalised. The third-party system has been fully
restored, and check-in operations at all airports are functioning smoothly. Air India confirmed that all its flights are currently operating as per schedule.According to sources, "There was an outage in the Amadeus (Departure Control System, which facilitates check in, and is an interface to SITA network) of Air India for around 45 minutes (between 2015 to 2100 hrs) today, at multiple airports, which led to delays to some of the Air India flights. After 9 pm, all normal."
#UpdateThe third-party system has been fully restored, and check-in at all airports is functioning normally. All our flights are operating as per schedule. We thank our passengers for their understanding.
