Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, the co-owners of the Goa nightclub where 25 people were killed in a fire on December 6, arrived at Delhi airport early Wednesday. They were taken into custody by the Goa Police
and are being taken back to the state.In visuals shared by news agency PTI, the two brothers are seen at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport in New Delhi, where they were escorted by police before being taken to Goa. The Luthra brothers appeared with their faces covered, surrounded by security personnel.

The deportation process was initiated over the weekend after a Delhi court rejected their plea for anticipatory bail.The brothers were deported from Thailand and brought to Delhi on Tuesday, where they were produced before a court. The court granted a two-day transit remand, allowing the Goa Police to take them back to the state.Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra were detained by Thai authorities at their hotel in Phuket last week following a request from New Delhi. The move came after the Indian government alerted international agencies and secured an Interpol Blue Notice in connection with the Goa nightclub fire case.

Luthra brothers face culpable homicide charges
The Luthra brothers are facing a case of culpable homicide and negligence following the tragedy, which investigators allege was compounded by the nightclub operating in violation of mandatory fire safety norms. The incident raised serious questions over alleged fire safety violations and lapses by the management.In a statement in Panaji, a Goa police spokesperson said, "After taking the custody of the deported Luthra brothers in New Delhi and on obtaining the transit remand, the Goa police are bringing both the accused to Goa.""The police team, along with the accused, is expected to reach Goa by tomorrow (Wednesday) morning," he said.The duo booked their tickets for Phuket through a travel portal at 1.17 am on December 7, within an hour of learning about the devastating fire at 'Birch by Romeo Lane', their nightclub at Arpora in North Goa, as per officials. Following this, the Goa Police had approached the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the issuance of the Blue Corner Notice against them, after which they were nabbed by Thai authorities.
