The Patna Sahib constituency draws attention for its intense multi-party contest and strategic significance in the state’s political landscape.In 2025 election, it witnessed a contest between BJP’s Ratnesh Kushwaha, Congress’ Shashant Shekhar, Jan Suraaj Party (JSP)’s Minu Kumari, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP)’s Randhir Kumar, and Independent candidate Gudiya Devi.Though several parties fielded their candidates, the key contest in Patna Sahib is between BJP’s Ratnesh Kushwaha and Congress’ Shashant Shekhar. However, the presence of political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor-led JSP may have made the contest a three-way fight.

Bihar Exit Poll Results 2025
Earlier, on November 11, a host of exit polls—including JVC, Dainik Bhaskar, Matrize, People’s Insight, Peoples Pulse, P-Marq, Chanakya Strategies, DV Research, and TIF Research among others—projected a clear victory for the BJP-JD(U)-led NDA, while indicating a setback for RJD-Congress-led Mahagathbandhan.However, one exit poll by Axis My India predicted a close fight between the NDA and Mahagathbandhan but gave an edge to the saffron camp. The exit polls also suggested that the much-hyped Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj Party may not be able to create any major impact and could win between 0–1 seat, with a maximum of 5 in the best-case scenario.
Bihar Sees Historic Voter Turnout Since 1951
In the 2025 election, the state broke all previous records and registered a historic overall turnout of 66.91%—the highest in seven decades since Bihar first voted in 1951.The turnout was also historic phase-wise, with 65.08% polling in Phase 1 across 121 constituencies and 68.76% in Phase 2 across 122 constituencies.Notably, female voter turnout was higher than male turnout in both phases and overall, with 71.6% among women compared to 62.8% among men.Polling for the 2025 Bihar Assembly election was held in two phases—121 constituencies voted in the first phase on November 6, while the remaining 122 went to polls in the second phase on November 11.
