Argentine football great Lionel Messi is set to meet the Chief Justice of India and the Indian Army chief during the Delhi leg of his India tour on Monday, in addition to a scheduled interaction with Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, officials familiar with the programme said, reports PTI. Messi is expected to arrive in the national capital at 10:45 AM. He will begin the day with a brief meet-and-greet session at a city hotel before heading to the prime minister’s official residence for a short interaction with Modi.After the visit to the prime minister, Messi will travel to the residence of a member of Parliament, where he is scheduled to meet Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant and Army chief General Upendra Dwivedi. The Argentine ambassador to India, Mariano Agustin Caucino, is also expected to be present. The MP hosting the gathering is understood to be Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel, a former president of the All India Football Federation.The gathering is likely to include a small group of senior officials, including Enforcement Directorate chief Rahul Navin, along with a few other top government functionaries.Messi’s Delhi visit will conclude with a series of events at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, earlier known as Ferozshah Kotla Stadium. His convoy is scheduled to reach the venue in the afternoon, where a programme has been planned as part of the final day of the GOAT India Tour.
