The Office of Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, on Monday strongly refuted media reports claiming an internal rift within the Assam BJP, terming them baseless and misleading. The clarification comes after a purported letter allegedly written by Sonowal to the BJP National President began circulating in certain sections of the media.According to an official statement issued by the Ministry, the letter in question is completely fake, fabricated, and forged. The Office categorically denied any such correspondence, stating that the document carries a forged official letterhead and a fake signature of the Union Minister. The alleged letter reportedly made claims about internal rivalry within the Assam BJP and sought
a leadership change while levying allegations against Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Rejecting these claims outright, the Minister’s Office said there is “no truth whatsoever” in the reports suggesting any internal conflict or correspondence attributed to Sarbananda Sonowal.
