Marshall Islands-flagged LPG carrier, MT Sarv Shakti, carrying 46,313 MT of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and with 20 crew members onboard, including 18 Indians, safely crossed the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday (May 2) and is expected to arrive at Visakhapatnam by Sunday, ANI quoted sources. The movement of cargo ships in the Hormuz has been impacted ever since the Iran war started on February 28. Tehran has been using the Hormuz blockade as its strategic move to pressure the United States. The disruption in the Hormuz impacted oil and gas trade, especially for South Asian and European nations.
