A container ship that was targeted in the Strait of Hormuz by Iran on early Sunday had Indian crew onboard. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), a total of 11 Indian crew members were onboard the vessel, out of which 10 have been rescued while one Indian national is missing. The attack triggered fresh escalation in the Gulf in the already tensed region after two days of continued US raids against Tehran. Iran said that the Cyprus flagged vessel was targeted as it was not following the route approved by them.
