The United States and India have announced a significant rollback of reciprocal tariffs, a move that the US ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, described as the beginning of a "new era of India-US relations"
with "limitless potential". In an exclusive interview with Times Now Group Editor-in-Chief Navika Kumar following the announcement, Gor said the agreement was driven directly by the two leaders and added that US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would meet soon. Under the deal, tariffs on Indian goods entering the United States will be reduced from 50% to 18%, easing months of trade tensions between the two countries. In a post on social media, Gor said President Trump "genuinely considers Prime Minister Modi a great friend" and welcomed what he described as the "limitless potential" of the bilateral relationship. Gor also said that Prime Minister Modi had invited President Trump to visit India.
