sworn-in Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has kept 29 departments, including home, agriculture, health, tourism, art and culture, and sports, as part of the portfolio distribution. JDU leaders Bijendra Prasad Yadav and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary were designated as deputy chief ministers of the Samrat Choudhary-led government in Bihar. While Samrat Choudhary has Home, Agriculture, among others, his Deputy Vijay Kumar Chaudhary has been allotted 10 departments, including water resources, minority welfare, education, higher education, transport, and rural development. Another Deputy Chief Minister, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, has kept eight departments, including energy and finance.
Samrat Choudhary First Ever BJP CM in Bihar
Samrat Choudhary was earlier sworn in as the 24th Chief Minister of Bihar, in the first instance of a saffron party member making it to the top post in the state. According to a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat Department, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary and Bijendra Prasad Yadav, the only two leaders who took oath apart from the CM on Wednesday, have been designated as deputy chief ministers.The notification said Samrat Choudhary holds altogether 29 portfolios, besides “all other such departments which have not been allocated to anybody else”.
