Dawn Of DKS Era: Shivakumar Takes Oath As Karnataka Chief Minister

After

weeks of intense political negotiations and consultations between Congress brass from Bengaluru to New Delhi, senior Congress leader D K Shivakumar was sworn in as Karnataka's Chief Minister on Wednesday. He took the oath of office at Lok Bhavan in Bengaluru, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the state's politics. Veteran Congress leader G Parameshwara, who served as Home Minister in the outgoing Siddaramaiah government and is regarded as one of the party's most prominent Dalit faces, was sworn in as Deputy Chief Minister.

Top Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and chief ministers in party-ruled states, besides some opposition leaders, attended the oath-taking ceremony. Shivakumar was also seen greeting his predecessor Siddaramaiah and Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge ahead of his swearing-in ceremony.

The new Congress government in Karnataka led by Shivakumar will have 14 ministers in the Cabinet, including his predecessor Siddaramaiah's son Yathindra and is a blend of experience and youth with leaders from all sections and confidants of both Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah.(This is a developing story)
