The counting of votes in the Assembly Elections of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry is currently underway. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the outcome in all four states and one Union Territory is now showing a clear picture as to which party is leading in which state and also who is likely to form the next government. Going by the Election Commission trends, there is a saffron wave in West Bengal and Assam; new entrant TVK led by actor-politician Joseph Vijay has surprised everyone, emerging as the single largest in Tamil Nadu. In Kerala, there is a change in the guard as the Congress-led UDF has been able to end 10 years of Left rule; Assam has also given a clear mandate, paving way for the third
consecutive victory of the BJP under the leadership of Himanta Biswa Sarma and Puducherry is retaining the All India NR Congress-BJP led government. Trinamool Congress has won 5 seats, leading in 82 with a vote share of 40.84 per cent.Tamil NaduTVK has so far won 14 seats and is leading in another 94 with a vote share of 34.81 per cent. DMK has so far won 7 seats and is leading in another 53 with a vote share of 24.11 per cent.The AIADMK has bagged two seats so far and is leading in 43 with a vote share of 21.42 per cent.KeralaThe Congress-led UDF alliance has won 8 seats and is leading in 55 others with a vote share of 28.84 per cent. The CPI(M) has won 3 seats and is leading in 23 with a vote share of 21.74 per cent. The BJP has grabbed three seats in Kerala with a vote margin of 11.44 per cent.The AUML and CPI have been able to grab 10.94 per cent and 6.65 per cent vote share respectively.Assam The BJP has so far won 31 seats and is leading in another 51 with a vote share of 38.98 per cent. Whereas, the Congress has grabbed one seat and is leading in 18 others with a vote share of 28.94 per cent.
