Vaishali: After voting concluded for Phase 1 of the Bihar Assembly election on November 6, an incident came to light when a video surfaced on social media showed the EVM display turning off inside a strong room in the Mahnar constituency. As speculation began to spread, Vaishali District Magistrate Varsha Singh clarified the matter and explained what actually happened, while also hitting out at RJD agents who were present at that time and allegedly shared the video to spread misinformation.Vaishali DM Varsha Singh said, “A strong room has been set up at RN College for five Assembly constituencies, and display units have been installed there for the candidates or their agents to monitor.”“The incident in question took place at this location at 11:52
pm. As seen in the video, the display for the Mahnar constituency went blank, while the displays for the other four constituencies continued to function. The video also shows a pickup van moving out of the premises. Upon investigation, it was found that at 11:52 pm, the TV’s auto timer lock was activated, causing the display to suddenly switch off. However, video recording continued, and in the administrative control room, all five Assembly constituency displays were working properly at that time,” she informed.
