BAMS Student Found Dead In Meerut; Exam Stress Suspected

A 20-year-old student from the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) was found dead at her residence located in Lal Kurti, Meerut. The police suspect academic pressure to be the cause of this unfortunate event.The deceased, identified as Aariba, was pursuing her second year at a medical college in Hapur. She belongs to the Jatav Gate locality situated in the jurisdiction of Kotwali Police Station. She recently came back to her home after giving her annual examinations.As per the police, the unfortunate death took place at the house located in Bakri Mohalla, where the victim used to live along with her family. Relatives told the investigators that the girl was undergoing a lot of stress lately since she feared poor performance in her examination.Family

members revealed that on Sunday evening, she had dinner with them and then went to sleep in her room. After some time, her grandmother and other relatives tried looking for her when she did not come out of her room. On entering, they discovered the victim hanging from her room. Despite their efforts to revive her, the young girl could not survive.The police arrived at the scene after being informed, did an initial survey of the site, and sent the body for postmortem examination. Statements of family members are being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.City Superintendent of Police, Vinayak Gopal Bhosle, said the authorities are trying to gather every possible detail about the incident from the family and examining all aspects of the case."Further action will be taken based on the postmortem report and other facts that emerge during the investigation," the officer said.The police are not ruling out any possibility and are waiting for the results of the postmortem examination.(With PTI Inputs)
