Ashutosh Ranka, a public policy professional and former management consultant, has emerged as one of the key faces of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) after being appointed an official spokesperson of the youth-led movement ahead of its planned protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on June 6.Ranka will represent the organisation alongside investigative journalist Saurav Das and political researcher-filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya, who have also been named spokespersons for the movement.Originally from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Ranka graduated with a B.Tech in Materials Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. During his time at the institute, he served as President of the Students' Gymkhana for the 2016-17 academic year.After completing
his engineering degree, he pursued a Master's in Public Administration from the London School of Economics, where he focused on public policy and governance.Ranka later worked with McKinsey & Company in London as a management consultant, advising organisations on strategy, operations and economic issues. However, after several years in the corporate sector, he chose to return to India and shift his focus to public affairs and social activism.According to previous interviews, Ranka has been associated with policy and governance initiatives and has also worked as an associate fellow with the Aam Aadmi Party-led Delhi government. His work has largely centred on public policy, civic participation and youth-related issues.In recent years, he has been involved in campaigns across Rajasthan on subjects such as environmental conservation, education reforms and youth welfare. He has also spoken publicly on issues including the NEET paper leak controversy, the Amaira suicide case and environmental concerns in the Dol Ka Badh region.The Cockroach Janta Party first gained attention as a youth-driven protest movement focused on unemployment, examination-related concerns and governance issues. With his background spanning engineering, public policy, consulting and grassroots activism, Ranka is now set to play a prominent role in communicating the movement's message to a wider audience.
