'CEO Appointment To Bank Reforms': Decisions Expected In Ram Temple Trust Meet Amid Donation Row - Sources

Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will hold a crucial meeting on Monday (July 6) amid the ongoing probe into the alleged embezzlement of donation funds of the temple. Resignations of former general secretary. The deciiosn of the future course of the trust is also expected to be taken during the meeting. The meeting, scheduled to be held at Mani Ram Chhawni -- the monastery of Trust president Nritya Gopal Das -- will take place for the first time since the theft allegations surfaced. Discussions on the appointment of a chief executive officer (CEO), banks reforms and leadership change are likely to take place in the key trust meet.Trust treasurer Govind Dev Giri has asked all regular and ex-officio members to attend the key meet.

What Changes Are Likely To Take Place After The Meeting:

• Some of the members of the trust could be replaced. However, it is unlikely that permanent members of the trust could be replaced.
• There can also be discussions on appointing the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the trust. It is not clear as to who can take this post.
• Discussions can also take place about changing the bank of the trust. Currently, the State Bank of India (SBI) is the banker of the Ram Temple Trust, and its role is also being investigated by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the alleged donation row. Several SBI officials are being probed by the Ayodhya Police and the SIT.
• The decision could also be taken on changing the organisational structure of the trust to bring more transparency into the donation process.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust presently has 11 permanent members, including president Nritya Gopal Das, Vasudevanand Saraswati, Vishwaprasannatirth, Parmanand Giri, treasurer Govind Dev Giri, Krishna Mohan, Dinendra Das, and K. Parasaran. With the resignations of Champat Rai and Anil Mishra, along with the recent demise of trustee Bimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra, the Trust no longer has a vice president to chair meetings in the president's absence.

Trust Chairman Nritya Gopaldas Breaks Silence On The Entore Controversy:

Gopaldas on Monday (July 6) issued a statement on the alleged embezzlement of donation funds at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. It is the first statement of the trust president after the allegations of alleged theft in the donation funds surfaced. Gopal Das said that he was "deeply pained" due to the alleged embezzlement of donation funds of the Ram Temple. "I am deeply pained by the alleged theft of donations at the temple of Shri Ramlala Sarkar. Whoever has committed this sinful act should be given the strictest possible punishment. I sincerely appeal to the Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, and the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, to ensure that those responsible for committing this wrong against Lord Ram and causing immense anguish to devotees are brought to justice."This is a matter of faith for millions of Hindus. I also request that Lord Ram should not be used for personal gain or political purposes," he added.
