A stone was pelted at a coach of the Lucknow-Delhi Shatabdi Express near the Firozabad railway station on Thursday evening, with RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on board, police said. The incident took place around 7:45 pm near the Pemeshwar Gate bridge on the Etawah-Tundla section. According to officials, an unidentified person threw a stone at one of the coaches of the 12003 UP Shatabdi Express, shattering a window pane and triggering concern among passengers. The incident occurred while the train was en route, prompting railway authorities to immediately alert the police. Mohan Bhagwat, passengers unharmed
Sources said that RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was travelling on the train at the time of the incident. He was reportedly seated in the E1 coach when the stone struck one of the coaches. The incident briefly raised security concerns given the presence of the RSS chief on board.However, railway officials confirmed that no passenger was injured in the stone-pelting incident. Mohan Bhagwat and all other passengers travelling on the Shatabdi Express were reported safe, and train operations were not affected.Police have launched a probe to identify the person responsible for throwing the stone. Investigators are examining CCTV footage from railway stations and nearby areas along the route to determine whether the act was deliberate or the work of miscreants.Officials said the circumstances surrounding the incident will become clearer after a detailed analysis of surveillance footage and other evidence collected during the investigation.
