A festive atmosphere reigns within the temple complex following the resolution of a long-pending land dispute involving the Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple in Dombivali, Thane. Maharashtra BJP State President and MLA Ravindra Chavan, along with his wife, performed a Sankalp Purti puja at the temple early Monday morning to mark the Mahayuti government's approval of 4 acres and 25 gunthas of land for the temple. Chavan expressed special gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for the decision to transfer the temple land to the Devasthan.Ravindra Chavan also informed that to commemorate this historic decision, a grand Shiva Utsav, Bhajan-Kirtan Mahotsav, and gratitude ceremony will be organized on June 8, 2026, at the Shri Pimpaleshwar Mahadev Temple Complex.
Maharashtra CM Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetratai Pawar, Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Industry Minister Uday Samant, along with several senior state leaders and dignitaries will be present and will visit Lord Pimpaleshwar Mahadev. On this occasion, Chavan stated that the nearly two-decade-long struggle for the temple land has finally been successful due to the necessary administrative decisions taken by various departments with the support of the Mahayuti government. He stated that this moment is a matter of immense pride and joy for thousands of Shiva devotees, villagers, and the citizens of Dombivali. Continuous efforts have been made to resolve the temple land issue for nearly two decades. The issue was consistently raised with the government through village councils, government meetings, legal processes, and public movements. To give momentum to this movement, the Bharatiya Janata Party even called for a Dombivali bandh on August 20, 2012. After a long struggle and persistent efforts, the path has now been paved for the transfer of ownership of the temple land to the Devasthan."The Pimpaleshwar Temple is a center of faith for countless Shiva devotees. Continuous efforts have been made to ensure that the temple receives its rightful land and provides all the necessary facilities to the devotees. This struggle has been successful due to the grace of Lord Mahadev and the support of the public. This Shiva festival is being organized to express gratitude for this and to pray for the happiness, prosperity, and well-being of the society," Chavan said. "This special event, to be held on June 8th, will feature bhajans, kirtans, religious rituals, group prayers, and widespread participation from Shiva devotees," he added. Chavan has also appealed to all Shiva devotees, citizens, and villagers of Dombivali and surrounding areas to attend in large numbers and witness this historic occasion.
