India is currently reeling under an intense heatwave that has turned daily life into a struggle. From scorching winds to unbearable daytime temperatures, the region feels like a furnace. Even air conditioners are failing to provide relief as hot winds and dry conditions persist. Humans and animals alike are feeling the impact of this extreme weather. However, amid this relentless heat, the India Meteorological Department has brought a glimmer of hope with a forecast of changing weather conditions across multiple states.
Weather Today: Heatwave Alert in North India with Rain and Storm Warning
The India Meteorological Department has indicated that the next 24 to 48 hours will be crucial for weather changes across several states. Regions including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab and Haryana are likely to witness strong winds, dust storms and rainfall. Wind speeds could reach up to 60 kilometres per hour in some areas. While this shift is expected to bring some relief from the extreme heat, it also comes with risks. Sudden storms, lightning strikes, hailstorms and falling trees could disrupt normal life. Authorities have warned residents to remain cautious, especially during peak storm activity.
Northwest India is expected to experience peak heat conditions before the weather changes. The transition may lead to a drop in temperature, offering temporary relief but also causing disruptions in transport and power supply.
Delhi Weather Today: Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh Weather Update
According to the latest forecast,
Delhi NCR is likely to experience a rapid weather shift within the next 24 hours. Dust storms with wind speeds between 50 to 60 kilometres per hour are expected, along with light to moderate rainfall. This could bring down temperatures by around 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.Residents have been advised to stay indoors during storm activity as strong winds may lead to falling trees, power cuts and traffic disruptions.
In Uttar Pradesh, nearly 50 districts are expected to witness similar weather changes. Dust storms, rainfall and even hailstorms are likely in several areas, especially in Bundelkhand and eastern regions. Farmers and people working outdoors have been warned to remain alert due to the risk of lightning strikes. The changing weather may cool daytime temperatures and make nights relatively more comfortable.
Weather Today: Bihar, Rajasthan and Other States Brace for Impact
Bihar is also expected to see a mix of relief and risk. Weather alerts have been issued for all 38 districts, with strong winds, rain and thunderstorms likely over the next two days. Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 kilometres per hour, increasing the chances of uprooted trees and damaged infrastructure. Lightning remains a major concern in the state.Rajasthan continues to face intense heat, especially in cities like Bikaner, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. However, some areas may experience dust storms and light rainfall due to western disturbances. This could bring slight temperature relief, though heatwave conditions will persist in many regions.
Punjab and Haryana are also likely to see a drop in temperatures due to rainfall and cloudy conditions. While this will provide relief from the heat, strong winds could damage crops and disrupt electricity supply.Meanwhile, central and southern India are experiencing increased pre monsoon activity. States such as Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are likely to receive rainfall along with strong winds. In hilly regions like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, rain and even snowfall in higher altitudes are expected, along with risks of landslides.
