'Calm, Cool And A Total Killer': Donald Trump Praises PM Modi Ahead Of Bilateral Talks

Evian: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday praised PM Modi ahead of their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Evian, France. Trump described PM Modi as "calm," "cool," and a "total killer." The US President's remarks underscored a personal bond between the two global leaders. "Unlike PM Modi, who’s calm, cool & a total killer…I am not....look at him," Trump remarked. Meanwhile, Trump's remarks were also in line with his earlier description of PM Modi, where he previously made a similar statement.On several occasions, the US President lauded PM Modi. Last month, Trump called during a live vent organised in New Delhi to host Secretary of State Marco Rubio. In his call, the US President expressed his admiration for PM Modi Modi, saying

he's a "big fan and loves him."PM Modi Trump Bilateral Meeting:PM Modi and Trump are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. The two leaders are likely to discuss the situation in West Asia, the strategic Strait of Hormuz, energy imports from the United States and the proposed bilateral trade agreement during their meeting, sources said.Both nations are reportedly keen on building a long-term energy partnership, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening cooperation in the energy sector amid concerns over disruptions to global supply chains caused by tensions in Middle East.The India-US trade deal is likely to be the main focus of of the meeting. The deal is in its final stages, with negotiations progressing steadily and work on the agreement expected to be completed in the coming weeks.Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi raised concerns over the impact of disruptions in maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz while addressing the Outreach Session on "Forging New Partnerships and Rebuilding International Solidarity" at the 52nd G7 Summit. Trump was also present at the G7 Session.

"We welcome the progress made in peace efforts in West Asia. This conflict has caused loss of life and property in our friendly countries in the region. Disruptions to maritime trade through the Strait of Hormuz have affected the global economy. Several Indian civilians have also lost their lives," the Prime Minister said.
