Four tourists, including two children, were rescued on Friday after being stranded nearly 150 feet above the ground when a “sky-dining” restaurant platform malfunctioned near Anachal in Kerala’s Idukki
district.The group remained stuck for more than two hours after the crane supporting the dining platform reportedly suffered a hydraulic failure around 1:30 PM. Officials said neither the restaurant management nor its operators alerted authorities. Instead, local residents raised the alarm after noticing the platform hanging midair.Fire and rescue teams from Munnar and Adimali rushed to the site around 4 PM after learning about the incident through news reports. Television footage showed rescuers climbing ropes to reach the suspended structure.
