The
committee constituted to oversee the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir held its first meeting in the national capital and finalised the eligibility criteria for the post. The Trust had announced the formation of a three-member committee to identify a chief executive officer (CEO) for the temple trust.The panel comprises retired judge Pramod Kohli, retired Lieutenant General Vishnukant Chaturvedi and trustee Suresh Haware. The meeting was held on Friday.According to sources, the eligibility criteria are as follows:
- Applicants must be graduates.
- They must have a minimum of 20 years of experience in administration or finance.
- Candidates with prior experience in temple management will be given preference.
- The applicant must also be a follower of the Hindu faith.
According to the Trust, the CEO will initially be appointed for a three-year term and will be required to reside in Ayodhya during the tenure.

The committee has also decided to appoint a Secretary to assist in carrying out the selection process smoothly.Eight people, including trust employees associated with the temple's donation-counting process, have been arrested in the alleged embezzlement of donations at the Ram Mandir.The arrested accused are -- Avinash Shukla, Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Manish Kumar Yadav, Karunesh Pandey, Ramashankar Mishra, Subhash Srivastava and Ram Shankar Yadav alias Tinnu.The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the alleged embezzlement, identify systemic lapses in the handling of temple donations and establish the flow of the "diverted" funds. Following the detection of the alleged fraud, the trust has tightened security and strengthened the donation-counting process with enhanced surveillance and frisking of the personnel handling offerings.
