Kolkata: Hingalganj in West Bengal’s North 24 Pargana district witnessed moments of tension on Friday as a prisoner was produced at the SIR hearing centre under tight police security, sending a wave of curiosity
and unease through the bustling Agricultural Market area.The prisoner accused has been identified as Nasir Uddin Biswas, a resident of Bailani Bishpur Gram Panchayat under Hasnabad police station area in North 24 Pargana, was brought from the Basirhat Sub-Correctional Home with his hands cuffed, escorted by a special police team. Sources said the heightened security was prompted by his alleged involvement in multiple criminal cases.

Earlier, Nasir Uddin Biswas had been arrested by Hasnabad police station on charges related to several criminal activities.Following his arrest, the court ordered his judicial custody, and he was lodged at the Basirhat sub-jail. Friday’s appearance was linked to a scheduled hearing at the SIR centre located within the Hingalganj Agricultural Market complex.
