'You Made A Mistake': Mamata Banerjee's On-Camera Warning To Hospital CEO Goes Viral | Watch

A video of Mamata Banerjee is going viral on social media, where the former West Bengal Chief Minister was purportedly heard scolding the chief executive of a private hospital in Kolkata hours after her nephew Abhishek Banerjee was attacked by a crowd in Sonarpur. BJP state spokesperson Debjit Sarkar shared the clip in which Banerjee was allegedly heard shouting at CEO of the Belle Vue Hospital, Pradeep Tandon.“Don’t come with us, you misled us. Everybody will remember. You made a mistake. Don’t want to see your face. This arrogance, BJP...(unclear audio). Are you running a hospital? You are arrogant," Banerjee was heard shouting in the video clip.Sharing the clip, Sarkar alleged that Mamata Banerjee tried to pressurise the hospital authorities

to admit her nephew despite his reports showing no significant injuries. "Is this an attempt to evade the CID summons to Abhishek Banerjee? the BJP leader questioned, adding, "Patients who genuinely need treatment should not suffer because of political pressure. No one is above the law."

Abhishek Banerjee Attacked

The entire drama erupted after Abhishek Banerjee, Lok Sabha MP and the nephew of Mamata Banerjee, was attacked, heckled and pushed by a crowd in South 24 Parganas district, where he had gone to meet families affected by post-poll violence.The video of the incident surfaced on social media where crowd was seen throwing eggs and stones at him amid 'chor, chor' slogans. Following this, he was seen wearing a cricket helmet to protect him from stones and was moved to safety.Soon after the attack, Abhishek Banerjee was taken to Belle Vue Hospital, but the doctors discharged him, saying injuries sustained by him were superficial and did not warrant admission. However, Mamata Banerjee, who was present at the ward alongside her nephew, claimed that Abhishek has "blood clots around his chest" and the doctors at the hospital did not provide him the appropriate medical assistance under BJP's pressure.She shifted Abhishek to another hospital and issued a warning that if any medical issue arises with her nephew, the nursing home authorities and the doctors taking care of him, "particularly at Apollo and Belle Vue, will be responsible".While Banerjee called the attack "BJP-sponsored", the BJP has denied any involvement.

Mamata Banerjee Vs Hospital

Issuing the statement, the hospital authorities said, "There is no serious physical sign of injury except for bruises on the chest. Patient is talking and is fully conscious and oriented."However, in contrast, Mamata Banerjee alleged that the BJP had been pressurising the hospital authorities against admitting her nephew. "Those who are in power are threatening the hospitals not to admit Abhishek Banerjee because they don't want him to be treated."Banerjee alleged that the hospital administration was being pressurised by the authorities to deny him medical treatment. "When I was sitting with the administrator of the hospital, he was requesting me because he was allegedly receiving threat calls from the police from different quarters," she said. She also claimed that her nephew could have died if he had not worn a helmet.
