Jajpur in Odisha has been inundated with insect swarms the past few days, causing poor visibility and accidents on highways.Videos accessed by Times Now shows an insect swarm on the Kharasrota bridge with motorists

and pedestrians struggling to cross.Some bikers can even be seen falling off their vehicles.

As per reports, the large number of insects emerge at night and cover the bridge area.Local residents say that this is an annual event that takes place around winter. The insects which nest along the riverbanks and in nearby forests, are attracted by the bright lights and emerge as the temperature drops. While the swarm produces a loud buzzing noise, especially around moving vehicles, it also causes visibility problems, particularly at night.
