General Dhiraj Seth on Tuesday took over as the Army's 31st Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), succeeding General Upendra Dwivedi.An alumnus of the National Defence Academy and an Armoured Corps officer, Lt Gen Seth brings with him nearly four decades of distinguished service, marked by extensive command, staff and strategic appointments across diverse operational and institutional domains, according to the Ministry of Defence.At his farewell ceremony, outgoing Chief of Army Staff Upendra Dwivedi says, “Today, I am handing over this responsibility to General Dhiraj Seth. He is an experienced soldier and a capable administrator. I have complete confidence that under his leadership, the Indian Army will scale even greater heights while upholding
its proud traditions, professionalism, and commitment. As I hand over this responsibility today, I am fully confident about the future of the Indian Army. Our Army will remain rooted in its traditions, stay vigilant in the face of present-day challenges, and continue to be prepared for every situation that may arise in the future.”(This is a developing story)
