As a stirring prelude to the Eastern Command Investiture Ceremony a grand cultural evening titled Shaurya Sandhya 2026 was held on Sunday at Military Station Umroi, transforming the venue into a vibrant celebration of India's cultural richness and martial spirit.The evening unfolded as a powerful blend of tradition and valour with spellbinding performances that reflected the diversity and unity of the nation. The audience witnessed the thunderous energy of Chenda Melam the grace and strength of Chhau Dance the fierce rhythms of North East Warrior Dance and various tribal dance forms that paid homage to India's indigenous heritage. Adding a majestic military touch to Brass Band Symphony enthralled spectators while renowned civilian dance troupes
such as the Prince Group and Dancing Feet Group delivered captivating performances that enhanced the cinematic appeal of the event. The programme was graced by Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari PVSM UYSM AVSM SM General Officer Commanding in Chief Eastern Command who attended as the Chief Guest. The event saw the presence of senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces respected veterans civilian dignitaries Veer Naris and the proud families of gallantry award recipients.Throughout the evening the atmosphere was charged with patriotism pride and emotion.
