Kalaburagi: An IAS officer Mahantesh Bilagi along with two relatives died in a tragic accident in Karnataka after their car rammed into a divider.According to PTI, Mahantesh Bilagi was serving as Managing
Director of the Karnataka State Minerals Corporation Ltd who was en route to attend a relative’s wedding when his vehicle met with the accident in Karnataka’s Kalaburagi near Gounahalli.Bilagi was travelling along with his two relatives identified as Shankar Bilagi and Eranna Bilagi. Unfortunately, none of them survived the accident.Both, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and his Deputy DK Shivakumar have expressed grief on Bilagi's death.Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah condoled IAS officer’s death saying he had rendered honest service as the Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayats in several districts and as a district collector. He further added that Mahantesh had left his mark of efficiency everywhere he carried out his duties and his death has caused him immense grief.Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also shared his condolences on Bilagi’s demise saying he was an “efficient officer” and known for his public service initiatives adding his death has caused an irreplaceable loss to the society.With inputs from PTI
