Amid
the ongoing allegations over the alleged donation theft case, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced a series of stringent measures to strengthen security and transparency in the cash-counting process. One of the most significant changes brought by the Trust is the introduction of a new uniform for all cash-counting staff. According to sources, the counting staff has been issued dark blue, fully sealed coveralls with zippers and no pockets, eliminating any possibility of concealing cash during the counting process. The Trust has also altered the counting procedure. While donations were earlier counted on tables, the process has now been shifted to the floor under tighter supervision.
Security During Counting Increased
Sources informed that security has been significantly enhanced, with five SIS Security personnel deployed to monitor the counting operation. Following the
donation theft case, two police personnel have also been stationed at the counting centre. To ensure accountability, two bank officials and two representatives of the Trust remain present throughout the counting process. The Trust has also strengthened access protocols. Staff engaged in cash counting must now undergo three separate entry checks, including physical screening at two different checkpoints. The counting process continues in two shifts — from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm — with the entire operation being continuously video recorded to ensure complete transparency and oversight. The enhanced security measures come as the Trust faces increased scrutiny following the ongoing investigation into the alleged theft of donations from the Ram Temple.
Ayodhya Police Likely To Summon Ram Mandir Trustees
Ayodhya Police are likely to summon members of the Ram Mandir Trust in the third week of July as the investigation into the alleged temple donation theft gathers pace. The police sources informed that the focus remains on identifying the mastermind behind the alleged donation theft. Before summoning the trustees, investigators want to complete the recovery of the proceeds of crime and establish the money trail.
Champat Rai and Krishna Mohan have already recorded their statements once during the course of the investigation and investigators are working to establish whether the alleged theft operated as an organised racket. However, they are yet to identify who allegedly orchestrated the operation, as the accused have been shifting blame onto one another. After recovering CCTV footage from the temple counting area, police are analysing the pattern of events. Sources have mentioned that the footage indicates that monitoring personnel were absent from the observation unit during a specific time window when the alleged theft is suspected to have taken place. The investigation has also found that the CCTV system covering the counting area was under the control of the Trust.
