Delhi: Days after a blast near Delhi’s Red Fort which claimed at 15 lives, the historic monument is gearing up for a mega event likely to be attended by President Droupadi Murmu and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.Security has been significantly ramped up as the Red Fort prepares to host commemorations marking the 350th death anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur.The upcoming event is expected to draw nearly 50,000 attendees, with the Delhi government organising a Kirtan Darbar from November 23–25.

Several VVIPs, including President Murmu and Home Minister Shah, are likely to attend, said Jasmain Singh Noni, Secretary of the DSGMC.Ahead of the event, Police have installed 25 additional CCTV cameras along the approach to the monument, while the DSGMC has set up 250–300 cameras for round-the-clock surveillance.A multi-layered security grid involving CISF, Delhi Police, bomb squads, and other agencies has been deployed to thoroughly check all visitors.Even as the scars of the attack remain, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) began preparations on Thursday without interruption. Security arrangements have been reinforced in and around the Red Fort. “We are courageous and God-fearing people. These blasts cannot shake our faith in God. When our Guru was not scared, who are we to fear anyone?” said Paramjeet Singh Chadha (71), who visited the Red Fort on Wednesday.Another visitor, Amrit Singh (60), said her family felt secure due to the enhanced arrangements.“The significance of this anniversary is immense for us. Not for a moment did we hesitate to come here,” she added. DSGMC officials stressed that preparations never stopped despite the blast.“Even when the incident happened, the work did not halt for a minute because this is for our Guru. Delhi Police assured us of maximum security. We have installed 250 to 300 CCTV cameras around the Red Fort to maintain vigil,” said the DSGMC secretary.He added that while some people were initially apprehensive about travelling to Delhi, the organizers reassured them, and now, over 50,000 attendees are expected.

What We Know About Red Fort Blast
The blast near Delhi's Red Fort was triggered by a suicide bomber and linked to a “white-collar” terror module spanning Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, claimed 15 lives.The incident took place after a slow moving i20 car exploded at a traffic signal near Red Fort's metro station gate number 1 on November 10.

According to the investigation so far into the incident, agencies are suspecting that the i20 car was being driven by one of the suspect in the white collar terror module, identified as Umar Un Nabi. Uman Un Nabi was appointed as Doctor in the Faridabad's Al Falah University when agencies found hundreds of kgs of Amonium Nitrate based explosives. So far, a total of six people have been arrested in the terror trail and 4 of them were sent to NIA custody by a Delhi court on Thursday.Despite the recent blast, visitors expressed confidence in attending the commemorative events.
