Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini on Saturday highlighted the state’s journey since its separation from Punjab, discussing its growing identity in national security, sports, and industry. Speaking at the ET Now Global Business Summit (GBS) 2026, he discussed the contribution of Haryana's youth to the armed forces, athletes' success on the global stage, and the rise of industrial development."When two brothers (Haryana and Punjab) were separated, there were concerns about how we would fare. Haryana has done its best to make a mark in several sectors. When it comes to our nation's security, our youth is number one. Around 10% of jawans in the army are from Haryana. The second identity we have made is in sports. For our country, many athletes from our state bring
glory. Haryana gets the most medals for India. Third is our industry. We have a massive number of automobile industries and have built a domain there as well," he said. The Chief Minister added that the state is now working on a new policy to offer better facilities to investors. "Haryana was once primarily an agriculture-based region. Today, agriculture remains strong, while industry, sports and national service have also become our pillars," he said.
