Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) announced support for Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Saturday, bringing a resolution to Tamil Nadu's fast-moving government formation battle. Explaining the decision, VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan said the party did not want to become an "obstacle" to Vijay forming the government and said the move was aimed at ensuring government formation and preventing the imposition of President’s Rule in the state. Earlier, reports had revealed that breaking the deadlock had not been easy. In a post on social media platform X, VCK questioned Vijay's political handling of the post-election situation and accused the TVK of seeking support through WhatsApp messages instead of holding direct political consultations with leaders.Accusing his inner circle of misguiding him, the party said Vijay should have personally met leaders of parties whose support he was seeking instead of relying on informal communication.The party also took exception to reports that support was being sought through WhatsApp messages asking leaders to "reply and let us know", calling it politically inappropriate during a constitutional crisis.
