'Young Of The Country Won': CJP's Saurav Das Speaks To Times Now, Says Youth Have Created History | Exclusive

Days after protesting at the Jantar Mantar over the paper leak controversy, the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday withdrew its protest from Jantar Mantar. Responding to the end of the protest, spokesperson Saurav Das on Saturday, while exclusively speaking to Times Now, said that he is very proud of the youth of this nation as they have created history, and it is time for the youth to take responsibility for this nation.Speaking to Times Now, Das said, "The young of this country have won. They have created history. I think this August 15, when we celebrate our Independence Day, we will be celebrating the occasion in its true sense after many, many years.""After 12 years of fear, where protestors fear UAPA, IPC, the young of the country came

out on the roads and stood their ground and asked for a minimum level of accountability that should have automatically happened. This is something that will be recorded in history," he added.

Speaking on the CJP's demands accepted by the government, the CJP spokesperson said, "All our demands were not revolutionary or radical. They were things that should have already happened in a functioning democracy. Today, we have restored a functioning democracy."He further highlighted that the outfit placed rational demands in front of the government: compensation of Rs 1 crore to the families of the dead NEET paper leak victims; Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation and withdrawal of the FIRs filed against protestors across the nation. "The young of the country have an opinion, and they are not afraid to voice it. Through CJP, they found a medium to voice their views. We were clear on our demands. When the government told us that Pradhan's resignation is difficult, we were also clear on our demands. We were on the side of the truth, on the side of the people of this country, on the side of the young of the country; we knew the government would have to bend to their wishes," Saurav Das told Times Now.

He added that CJP is hopeful that the government will continue to engage with the young of this country and with the experts who have dedicated decades of their lives working for the education sector of the country. "The government has agreed to meet a delegation of the CJP in about one month, and we hope that the government studies reforms by then and takes steps to implement them," he added.
