Indian Railways has suspended the Ticket Checker (TC) concerned after an unauthorised decorator was allowed to enter a First AC coach of the Nandigram Express and decorate a private coupe for a travelling couple. The action was taken after a video went on social media showing the lavishly decorated cabin, prompting widespread reactions and raising questions. The video, recorded inside Train No. 11002 Nandigram Express, shows the private First AC compartment adorned with balloons, floral arrangements and thousands of rose petals, with an "I Love You" message displayed on the wall. The elaborate setup transformed the cabin into what many online compared to a honeymoon suite as the train continued its journey.Releasing a statement, Indian Railways said
the couple travelling on the Nandigram Express on July 6 had privately hired an online decorator to decorate their First AC coupe. However, the decorator's entry into the coach at Jalna railway station was unauthorised and is viewed as a serious lapse."The concerned staff member has been placed under suspension, and a detailed departmental inquiry has been ordered. Appropriate action will be taken based on the inquiry findings," the Railways said."Further, the decorator has been booked under the extant provisions of the Railway Act for unauthorised entry into the train, travelling without a ticket and indulging in trespassing," the statement added.
