Indian Railways is set to take a major step towards redefining long-distance rail travel with the introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Class train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag
off the new sleeper variant on January 17, marking a significant milestone in India’s railway modernisation journey. The Vande Bharat Sleeper Class train will operate on the Kamakhya Junction–Howrah Junction route, expanding the Vande Bharat network beyond short and medium-distance travel. After the successful rollout of Vande Bharat Express trains in chair car configuration, the sleeper version is expected to offer enhanced comfort for overnight and long-haul journey.

Designed with modern technology and passenger convenience in mind, the train is equipped with automatic doors and advanced safety features.
