The last rites of Vidip Dilip Jadhav, the personal security officer (PSO) of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, were performed by his family in their native village in Satara last night. His young son performed the last rites. Jadhav was also on board the ill-fated charter plane that crash-landed in Baramati yesterday, killing all five people on board, including Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
Who Was Vidip Dilip Jadhav?
Vidip Dilip Jadhav had been serving as the personal security officer (PSO) of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar for the past four years. He joined the Mumbai Police in 2009 and was part of the Protection Department.Jadhav is survived by his wife Sandya, a daughter, a son, and his parents.According to a report by Mid Day, Jadhav lived in Surya Nagar, a quiet neighbourhood near Vitawa in Kalwa, where residents remember the family fondly.“The entire family shifted here nearly 20 years ago. They are a happy, close-knit family… very cordial people,” said Chanda Ringe, a neighbour close to the family, told the outlet.

Vidip was rarely home because of work, but Sandya and I spent a lot of time together.”Before being assigned to Ajit Pawar’s security detail, Jadhav was posted in Naigaon, Dadar, with the Mumbai Police’s Protection Department.Meanhwhile, the last rites of Ajit Pawar will be held today at 11 am in Baramati, NCP leader’s political stronghold, with full state honours. His mortal remains were kept at the Vidya Pratishtan ground to allow people to pay their final respects.Senior leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, are expected to attend. The Maharashtra government has announced three days of state mourning following Pawar’s death.
