Amid concerns over global oil and gas supply disruptions, the government has introduced a new “one home, one gas connection” rule aimed at ensuring fair distribution of cooking fuel. Under the new rule, households will no longer be allowed to keep both LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) cylinders and PNG (piped natural gas) connections at the same time. If a home already has a PNG connection, the LPG connection must be surrendered. The move comes as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, especially around the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil and gas shipping route, have raised fears of supply disruptions. India imports a large share of its energy needs, making it vulnerable to global crises. Also Read: India Makes Big LPG Move To Plug West Asia
