Mahua Moitra 'Fake' Chat Case: Bengal Police Claim Noida Interference Let Accused Flee

West Bengal Police allegedly faced obstacles by Noida Police while arresting an accused linked to alleged conspiracy regarding the leaked private chats claimed to be of Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra. Top police source told Times Now, “when West Bengal police arrived the location and detained the accused this morning, suddenly a team of Noida police comprises of 10-15 cops obstructed Bengal police from discharging their duty and they forcefully taken the 4-member team of West Bengal police to local police station and kept them there for at least 1.5hrs. As result, the accused successfully escaped from the scene and absconded.”A private chat claimed to be of TMC MP Mahua Maitra and political strategist Prashant Kishor was being circulated in social

media few days back. TMC MP Mahua Maitra lodged a written complaint at Krishnanagar Kotowali police station in Nadia against the claim was made in social media handle. Based on her written complaint an FIR was registered and investigation was launched by Krishnanagar police district. Source claims, during the probe, it was found that one person named Surajit Dasgupta posted the chat on his X handle. According to his X handle, he seems to be linked with saffron organization. Police source also says that, when the forensic examination was conducted, the said chat was found to be forged in forensic examination conducted by FSL. Following which, the person was served a notice and asked to appear before the investigating officer of Krishnanagar Kotwali Police Station on Monday. But the accused person remained absent skipping the summon which resulted in issuance of an arrest warrant ordered by local court in Nadia district.

Top source in Bengal police told Times Now, “to comply the arrest warrant, a team of West Bengal police arrived in Noida and fixed the location of the accused. Before starting the operation, local police was given official intimation by Bengal police and asked for cooperation”.IPS K. Amarnath, the superintendent of police of Krishnanagar police district told Times Now, “our team arrived the house of the accused person on Monday morning and successfully detained the person. While the team was preparing arrest memo, suddenly a large team of Noida police appeared at the scene and forcefully taken our cops to the local police station leaving the accused person at his house without any protection.”

Bengal police claim, they were not given any logical explanation for taking them to the local police station. Following which a heated altercation occurred between Noida police and West Bengal police. Source says, henceforth, a communication was initiated between the higher officials of West Bengal police and Noida police which resulted in immediate release of Bengal cops from the police station. When the team arrived house of the accused again, he could not be found there. Police source says, the accuse escaped from the scene taking the advantage of the activity of Noida police. Search operation is underway to nab the absconded accused.Krishnanagar SP K. Amarnath further told Times Now, “we initially suffered considerable losses due to not being able to nab the accused. But the raids are underway at several locations and we are trying to locate him as early as possible”.
